Anger

Tonight I wanted to write about anger.  Everyone experiences it.  Emotions are real and if we allow them they can take over our lives and halt our progress.  Before I began to write this I was dealing with my computer. I discovered that a program had updated and disabled the touchscreen capability on my laptop.  When I discovered it, that’s when I was going to write in the blog, that was six hours ago.   I’ve spoken to two different technicians about the same situation and have not come up with a solution as of yet.   I was so frustrated, I blamed my daughter, I thought that she had broken it; I was at my wits end!  All the while I knew what I was going to write about in the blog.  I had no idea that God would allow me to go through something that would cause me to be the topic of the blog and become utterly infuriated right as I sat down to write.

As I was going through the troubleshooting I thought about how anger and frustration can tear a person down, not to mention rob you of valuable time and energy.  Proverbs 16:32 KJVsays, “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.”  When things are falling apart around you and you want to point the blame or become bitter remember who you belong to and ask God to help you control yourself.  You are God’s child and His representative on earth.  I could have lost it on the company’s rep who made the update but I thought, “my goodness I’ve missed so much time on what I was originally going to do, I need to come back to this another time.”  I just lost 6 hours, some loose years or even a lifetime of being productive because of an emotion that should be fleeting.  Don’t be that angry, stagnate person that complains all the time, be the light God has called you to be and shine bright in darkness.  Satan definitely wanted to stop my progress but he did not succeed, don’t give him room in your life through your anger and allow him to halt your progress.

John 12:35 MSG “…As you have the light, believe in the light.  Then the light will be within you and shining through your lives.  You’ll be children of light.”

Ephesians 4:26-27 KJV “Be ye not angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil.”

Ephesians 4:29 MSG “Watch the way you talk.  Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth.  Say only what helps, each word a gift.”
