“Yet if you devote your heart to him and stretch out your hands to him, if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, then, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear. You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by. Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning. You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor” (Job 11:13-19 KJV).
Some me people are living in a cloud of sin that blocks their progress. I have experienced that due to habits and ideals that I had developed from my teenage years. Even though I was raised in a Christian home, I went off track and it took certain situations to realize my error and come back to God. We all have times where a light bulb goes on in our heads and we realize that we don’t like where we are, are you at that point? What is holding you back from growth? Sometimes we get thrown off of our original path due to wrong judgement calls, wrong relationship ties, habits, etc. Even though we get thrown off we need to remember that there is a Savior named Jesus who came down from Heaven to save and heal us spiritually, emotionally and physically. He will reroute you and put you back on your correct path and KEEP you there if you submit to His will. Your deliverence is not just for you, it’s meant to be a testimony. When you get it together make sure to bring others with you; show them what you have found.
This past weekend I went hiking with a friend. We were pretty high up in the mountain when we realized that we had taken a wrong turn. We could see our correct path below, but we could not figure out how to get down to it. As we were searching for an alternate route back to our path we noticed two other people lost and searching for a way to return to their path also. My friend remembered that she had downloaded a hiking app which tracks your route, so instead of us walking away from our new lost friends we said hey let’s all go together and get to the main road. Long story short we were able to make it to the right path and help them out of the wilderness. We were able to use our resources to pull ourselves and others out of a potentially dangerous situation.
This is how we need to be in our everyday lives. Don’t hide the resources that you have that is helping you or has helped you in the past to reach your Godly path. God will put you in someone’s path who will need deliverance from bad habits and will be in need of what you have, so miss that opportunity to give a God glory with your testimony.
Prayer is powerful. In the Bible the Apostle Paul talks about praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV). That is truly important for a person’s success in everyday life. I had to commit my way to Him, so that I would see what destiny He had in store for me. I had to align myself with His will, so that way when I make plans they line up with Him. If I was totally out of touch with what He was about I could not move forward. I would continue circling the same mountain, watching my life pass, unfulfilled, and hopeless. God showed me that I would not reach where He wanted me to go if sexual immorality continued to be present in my life. At first when you are faced with a decision to make you make excuses and drag your feet, I could no longer do that, I had to change. Sometimes we are the hindrance to our own prayers coming to fruition, we are not willing to change inwardly in order to see the change outwardly. Prayer of deliverance. When you pray this type of prayer you are taking the enemy’s authority away (Satan) in your life and walking in your authority as a child of God (born again believer of Jesus). When you come to God with this prayer ask for forgiveness and repent, this puts you back into good relationship with Him. Satan can no longer legally attack you because you are not walking and living in sin. To start you first acknowledge what Christ has done for you on the cross. Know and speak out loud that these habits have been nailed to the cross with Christ and now you are a new creature by the power of Christ’s death and resurrection. Also when you are speaking your heart needs to be contrite and totally surrendered to the will of God. You should now be committed to living a glorifying life unto God. After you have acknowledged what Christ has done on the cross, acknowledge that those sins/habits that you have done are nailed to the cross also and since Christ is raised from the dead you are resurrected as a new creature also and those things no longer have dominion over you, you have dominion over it. You are no longer controlled by your senses and you are no longer a slave to sin. Speak that you have power and dominion over that habit you have and that it is under your feet in Jesus’ name. Make sure to ask the Holy Spirit to fill those spots that those habits/sins left with what is pleasing to Him and praise Him for freedom in Him. After this prayer the enemy will try to attack your deliverance and make you doubt it, but be confident and speak the word of God; stay prayerful and read your Bible daily (Read 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, 1 Corinthians 2:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:3-14). Now that I have gone through so many twists and turns in my short life, I can see the hand of God clearer. I am not perfect and there is so much more that needs to be learned. I encourage you to dig in deeper to find your message. Ask God to lead and comfort you using these great scriptures and more. Deuteronomy 28 has great promises for us to speak over our lives daily and meditate on. Be blessed.
