Perspective, The Struggle Is Real

“….That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”  (Romans 8:28 MSG)

Pessimist:  A person who tends to see the worst aspect of things or believe that the worst will happen (defeatist).

Optimist:  A person who tends to be hopeful and confident about the future or the success of something.

How do you see things?  Are you an optimist or a pessimist.  Your perspective can greatly contribute to how you navigate life.  Being extremely negative can hinder you from living your best life and keep you from making valuable relationships.  Let’s say you are approaching a new situation; whether in the form of a job, friendship, potential dating relationship.  Since we are human we will draw from knowledge gained from past situations.  If you have experienced some hardship in either type and you are a pessimist, you will automatically put a stop sign on moving forward because all of the negative thoughts of the past cripple your progression.  On the other hand, as an optimist your approach will be different.  As an optimist you will always see the greener side of situations and more than likely take more risks.  As Christians (Christ followers) we can listen to the voice of the Lord and use His word as compass for our lives.

Through God’s word we can be healed and delivered from wrong mindsets that hinder us and take hold of the abundance He has laid out for us.   Hurtful or traumatic pasts and hurtful words spoken to us can play a huge role in our development but it is up to us how we allow it to further affect our futures.  No matter what you have gone through or whatever your perspective is on life, God is able to break through all of that and love you through to victorious living.  Holding on to hurt and thinking everyone is the same as the people who hurt you is absolutely not true.  People change, things change and you can change.  The Word of God says, “So, what do you think?  With God on our side like this, how can we lose?  If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?  And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen?  Who would dare even to point a finger”  The One who died for us-who was raised to life for us!-is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.” (Romans 8:31-37 MSG)  With God on your side you can accomplish and push through the toughest of thoughts and situations.  He did not die to leave us in mediocrity of any form, He wants you to be whole and in peace knowing that it is okay to move forward.    God uses our situations as a platform to teach us, the pain of certain situations, he will use to make you stronger and more resilient.  “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good…” (Genesis 50:20).  Don’t allow your thought pattern to kill your progress in relationships and life.

Jeremiah 29:11  MSG “…I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home.  I know what I’m doing.  I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”

Have hope for your future
