Colossians 1:17 “And He himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).”
When you feel overwhelmed and you feel that you can’t go any further, remember who truly is in control. It is definitely not us, It’s GOD. When the familiar emotions of being overwhelmed or frustrated comes over us it is God reminding us that we need Him to steer the ship of our life and things may be getting out of His order, He needs to be first and in the driver’s seat. He shows us that we need something greater than ourselves. Why is it so difficult to reach up? Why is it so difficult to admit that you need help? Let your guard down and be vulnerable to God, He has told us that He would never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), only He the creator of the universe can make that promise, only the One where all things consist and cohere can make that guarantee.
Say these words to yourself out loud when feeling overwhelmed or frustrated: God has everything under control even when I don’t or when I can’t control myself. I am reconciled to God because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, everything is in Him. Wonderful things are in store, I won’t miss them!
Our enemy (Satan) wants to steal God’s hope and promises from you and attempts to do that with our reactions to our emotions. Just because you feel a certain way doesn’t mean act on it, practice self control with your thoughts, actions, and words. Words and what you believe to be true play a big part in your success in life. Keep the above scripture in mind and remember who is really driving the ship of your life.
